The Challenge

The Megalò mall in central Italy, which opened in 2005, comprises more than 485,000 square feet of lettable space, with 110 shops on two levels, as well as 2,800 parking spaces. Anchor tenants include the Billa superstore, Media World, Giometti Cinema, Brico Io, H&M, Scarpe&Scarpe, and Zara.

The Solution

Despite the challenging economic conditions, investors continue to be attracted to the competitive advantages of high-quality, well-configured retail assets in good regional locations such as those presented by Megalò Shopping Center. Acting on behalf of SEB Asset Management, our team successfully completed the sale of the shopping center to a fund managed by ECE Project Management.

The Result

Cushman & Wakefield was pleased to have represented SEB and to welcome ECE into Italy. The sale became distinguished as the largest shopping center investment transaction in Italy for 2011.
