Mr. Gehlen is an appraiser in the Kansas City office of Cushman & Wakefield of Illinois, Inc., Valuation & Advisory. Prior to joining C&W, he was in the ad valorem tax field appraising commercial real estate for the Wyandotte County Assessor in Kansas City, Kansas. He was a licensed broker in Oregon working in the investment industry for a major national brokerage firm out of Portland. His duties involved analyzing financial data (profit & loss statements, cash flows, rent rolls, lease documents, budgets, and expiration schedules), developing marketing materials and offering memorandums, and discounted cash flow modeling using Argus software. Prior to that, he was a marketing specialist for another major national brokerage firm working out of Pleasanton, California where he actively supported investment brokers specializing in neighborhood and community shopping center dispositions, performed market research and analysis, and completed tenant profiling/lease abstraction for critical information.
Appraisal assignments have consisted of various institutional and non-institutional properties. They have included, but are not limited to, office buildings, shopping centers, net-leased assets, industrial warehouse facilities, manufacturing facilities, multi-family apartments and vacant land.
