Curtis A. Brown recently rejoined Cushman & Wakefield from Structure Tone, the largest corporate interiors general contractor in the country, where he has been repeatedly recognized as one of the company’s top producing construction executives.
Curtis began his career working for C&W’s Global Transaction Advisory Group in Cushman & Wakefield’s Midtown office. He was quickly recognized as a rising star and rapidly advanced through the ranks being recognized as one of Cushman & Wakefield’s top producers in the Tri-State area in 2002 and 2005.
Curtis received a BS in Communications from the University of Maine. He is a graduate of the New York Real Estate Institute and a member of the Real Estate Board of New York. In addition, Curtis is a former Board Member of C&W’s Emerging Brokers Group and the Inner City Scholarship Fund. As a native of Maine, Curtis grew up working on the water and has sailed extensively around the world as both an engineer and first mate on large yachts, including most recently on his own yacht “Independence”. Prior to moving to New York City, Curtis lived and worked in Africa for two years where he started his own company which specialized in guiding safari expeditions throughout the game parks of East Africa.
Curtis specializes in institutional client business development and tenant representation. His many clients and large transactions include the following:
- Represented EMI Music Publishing in the 80,000 rsf relocation of their New York Headquarters from a traditional office building in Midtown to a creative single floor layout, in a converted warehouse building in Chelsea.
- Negotiated the 100,000 rsf relocation of Fitch Ratings regional Headquarters in Chicago, Illinois leveraging their tenancy in a soft office market for a $10 million savings over a renewal in their existing location.
- Negotiated the 180,000 rsf renewal and expansion for the law firm Bingham McCutchen, LLP at 399 Park Avenue assembling a contiguous block of 75,000 rsf for expansion in a building that was 100% leased.
- Procured Sun Microsystems’s national and international facilities management business for a portfolio of over 12 million rsf.
