Curtis Gallagher joined Cushman & Wakefield to lead the hotel investment sales division for Canada. Curtis has over 20 years experience in the hotel industry with an extensive background in hotel operations at a senior management level and real estate services including valuation and transaction advisory. Curtis commenced his career in operations with several prestigious companies including Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, Delta Hotels and Resorts and InterContinental Hotels; about ten years ago, he transitioned to real estate services and has worked in valuation, advisory and brokerage roles.
Most recently, Curtis led the hotel investment sales practice for an international real estate services firm and was involved in a number of high-profile transactions. Some of his transactions include the 605-room Hyatt Regency Montreal, the 328-room Delta Ottawa Hotel & Suites, 102-room Horseshoe Resort & Conference Centre and the 104-room Ramada Hotel & Conference Centre Guelph. He also completed the sale of the 290-room Yorkland Hotel (formerly a Wyndham Hotel) in Toronto, ON and was involved in the sale of the 383-room Fairmont Copley Plaza in Boston, MA.
His clients have ranged from large, institutional investors to small, private owner/operators. Curtis graduated from the Hospitality & Tourism program at Ryerson University where he also obtained an Economics diploma. He is a licensed real estate and mortgage agent in Ontario and a member of the Toronto Real Estate Board. He has had articles published in The Land Economist and Hotelier magazine is often quoted in the Globe & Mail, National Post and Toronto Star. Curtis enjoys public speaking at local colleges and universities, and has been a moderator at the Canadian Hotel Investment Conference.
