David Cook is an Executive Vice President and shareholder with Cushman & Wakefield (C&W).  He brings more than 45 years of real estate experience to solving a broad range of his clients’ requirements. Mr. Cook specializes in the sale and leasing of commercial, industrial and investment real estate, and has been the Account Director for nine major corporations, assisting them with transaction management for their national or global portfolios.

In 1990, Mr. Cook joined Cushman & Wakefield where he rapidly became one of the company's top brokers. He has completed more than 4,670 assignments valued in excess of $4.6 billion. Assignments Mr. Cook is involved is involved in include: site acquisitions and dispositions, investment sales, industrial leasing, high-profile land sales, 1031 exchanges, and conventional and sealed bid sales. Since beginning his career in 1967, he has had extensive experience in the marketing and sale of land, including more than 1,500 transactions totaling over 202,000 acres valued at $2.9 billion.

Former Commercial Real Estate Professional of the Year and Realtor of the Year by Houston Association of Realtors (HAR)


Designated Counselor of Real Estate (CRE) by the prestigious real estate society, the Counselors of Real Estate.


Active in the local, state, and national levels of various realtor organizations, serving in many leadership capacities, including President of the Houston Association of Realtors.


Formerly appointed by the Governor of Texas for a six-year term on the Texas Real Estate Commission and was named its Chairman in 1988.


Member and former Vice President of the Houston chapter of CoreNet, as well as being a member of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) since 1976 and serving as President of its Houston Gulf Coast Chapter and on its National Executive Committee.


Served on several boards, including the ESCAPE Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse and the Market Square Historic District, and as past President of the Exchange Club of the Magic Circle.


Member of the Greater Houston Partnership, having been involved with the formation of the Houston Economic Development Council and serving as a member of the steering committee and as Chairman of both the marketing committee and the Houston Marketing Network
