Edward J. Weiss, a Vice Chairman of Cushman & Wakefield, is regarded as one of the industry’s most talented and prolific professionals. Throughout his 36-year career with Cushman & Wakefield, Mr. Weiss has advised major corporations and property owners on a broad range of real estate matters on a regional, national, and global basis. As the lead broker for some of the Tri-State Region’s most significant and complex leasing and sales transactions, he is frequently recognized for his accomplishments in commercial real estate.

Mr. Weiss has negotiated some of the largest leasing transactions in the New York City metropolitan area, including: the 564,000-sf Shearman & Sterling lease at 599 Lexington Avenue; the 1,000,000-sf Ernst & Young headquarters lease at 5 Times Square; the 450,000-sf McCann-Erickson headquarters lease at 622 Third Avenue; and the 400,000-sf Insurance Services Office headquarters lease at Newport Center. Other significant transactions include one of the largest transactions in Philadelphia in 2008, with the signing of the 120,000-sf lease at 1500 Spring Garden for Thomson Reuters; the 213,000-sf New York headquarters lease for Meredith Corporation at 805 Third Avenue; and the recently completed 250,000-sf transaction in Boston for Thomson Reuters.

Sales transactions include the 1.75 million-sf former J.C. Penney Building at 1301 Avenue of the Americas and the 850,000-sf office building at Westchester One in White Plains. Active with landlord representation as well,  Mr. Weiss has served as agent for major projects across the country comprising over 10 million sf of office space, including the negotiation of the 180,000 sf lease with the law firm, McDermott, Will & Emery at 340 Madison Avenue.
