Gary Williams is a Senior Vice President with Cushman & Wakefield Ltd. specializing in the valuation of both institutional and investment grade assets across Canada with over 20 years of experience. Mr. Williams’ valuation experience includes assignments with many Canadian and International real estate investors. Mr. Williams has completed valuation assignments on various investment properties in every province of the country. His primary fields of expertise include valuation and financial due diligence consultation specializing in Office, Industrial, Retail, Multi Residential and Land both in Ontario and across the country. In fact, he has valued the majority of Class A and B office buildings in the Downtown Toronto West and East node in the past ten years, for both REITS and Investors. His client list includes Legal and Accounting Firms, REITS, Pension Funds, National and Offshore Investors, Domestic and International Banks, Municipal and Provincial Entities and many other investors.
Gary has worked on a wide variety of valuation and consulting assignments including asset specific and portfolio properties. Atypical assignments included due diligence of a distressed loan portfolio of commercial assets in Ontario and Quebec for a major Canadian financial institution. In addition to valuing in excess of two billion dollars’ worth of investment and corporate assets, he has completed feasibility and market studies on behalf of major pension funds, investors and developers. He has also been involved with litigation and estate related assignments on behalf of financial institutions and private investors.
Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield Ltd., Gary was a Portfolio Manager with CIBC Development Corporation and a Principal at CVPL Real Estate. As a Portfolio Manager with CIBC Development Corporation, he managed a national portfolio of corporate assets that included valuation and divestiture of surplus assets. His hands-on transactional experience and high-level strategic responsibilities has given him national exposure to a wide variety of assignments. Such responsibilities included working on loan restructuring and work-out of various portfolios for the special loans and asset realization divisions of the bank. He was also seconded with AMRESCO Canada LLP to assist with various single asset valuations and portfolios across the country.
