James Moran joined Cushman & Wakefield of Connecticut, Inc. in December 2001 as Managing Director.
Currently, he is an Executive Managing Director with global oversight and responsibilities within the Valuation & Advisory group. He is also the Chair of the Business Practices Committee and oversees Governance matters for Valuation & Advisory.
Mr. Moran entered the real estate business in 1976. Employed from 1976 to 1979 as a real estate sales person/broker in the Westchester County, New York market. Expanded services to include property management and appraisal. He joined Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company in June 1979 as an Appraisal Analyst in the Appraisal, Architectural and Engineering Department of the bank. In 1981, Mr. Moran was elected an officer of the bank and managed valuation assignments related to construction lending activities on a national basis. In August 1982, joined BA Appraisals, Inc., a BankAmerica subsidiary, as Vice President in the New York office. Promoted to Manager in 1984. In June 1986, Mr. Moran formed Moran & Associates, Inc., a real estate appraisal and consulting company in Stamford, Connecticut, and served as its President through 2001. Moran & Associates, Inc. provided commercial valuation services to a broad range of institutional and private investors, owners, and developers, primarily in the broader Connecticut markets and the Westchester County/Hudson Valley areas of New York.
Awards & Associations
Mr. Moran was a recipient of the 1990 Outstanding Faculty award presented by the Real Estate Program of New York University. In 2005, received the Francis J. Corcoran Valuation Manager of the Year Award. He has been recognized locally for participation in various youth organizations, educational sponsorships, and charitable initiatives.
