Joshua King is an Executive Managing Director with Cushman & Wakefield’s Capital Markets Team. His primary focus is on deals in New York City and the surrounding Tri-State region but he is also involved nationally on mandates relating to trophy commercial real estate assets, complex structured equity deals and portfolio transactions. Joshua specializes in large investment sales and private equity transactions including joint ventures, preferred equity, partial interest sales, secondary interest sales, equity capital raising (for individual deals, programmatic ventures and closed-end funds) and leasehold/fee bifurcations.
His deal experience spans asset classes including office, retail, industrial, multifamily and specialty property types including data centers, medical office and life sciences. He has specialized expertise and experience in cross-border transactions including the structural aspects of admitting offshore capital into U.S. real estate on a tax-efficient basis. Over the course of his career, Joshua has been actively involved in the sourcing, underwriting, marketing and execution of over $133 billion in gross transactions volume.
Prior to joining Cushman and Wakefield in October 2016, Joshua worked at Eastdil Secured for nine years, most recently as a Managing Director in the New York City office. Prior to that, Joshua worked for five years at J.P. Morgan Private Bank, a division of J.P. Morgan Asset Management, where he reported to the firm’s Chairman of Market and Investment Strategy for the United States.
He is a licensed real estate salesperson in the State of New York and a Registered Representative (Series 7, 63).
Mr. King holds a Master of Business Administration degree with majors in real estate and finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He received a BA in Chemistry from Binghamton University.
He has served as a member of the Advisory Board to Make-A-Wish® Metro New York and Western New York since 2011.
