Mary DaCosta joined Cushman & Wakefield’s Project & Development Services (PDS) team in 2015 as a Project Manager in the East Rutherford office. Mary is a seasoned project management professional, having provided design and project management services for Fortune 500 corporate and retail spaces of varying sizes and complexities from conception through completion. She has built solid relationships with clients, and has completed projects successfully on-time and under budget.
In her current role at Cushman & Wakefield, Mary is responsible for leading project implementation and providing accountability for team performance and monitoring all project team activities at all stages of the project; providing oversight of consultants, contractors, subcontractors and vendors to ensure alignment with client requirements, as well as establish and monitor project schedules and budgets; and assembling project teams and directing project meetings.
Mary has managed numerous projects in the Tri-State area. Some of her most successful projects have been for Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine at Seton Hall University and Corporate office renovation projects for US Bank, Ocean First Bank, T-Mobile, and Met-Life. She has been instrumental in her direction in spearheading the office renovations for Cushman & Wakefield in three NJ locations. Mary has also worked exclusively for Unilever in the management of the consolidation & reconfiguration of their North American headquarter campus. She has great expertise in Retail environments such as the build-out for the Nike SoHo store in NYC. Mary has built relationships and managed projects for other clients such as: Instinet, Skidata, Sprint, Navigant, Perr & Knight and Upfield Foods.
Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, Mary spent 15 years at Sony Electronics as a Senior Designer/Project Manager for their retail and corporate divisions. Her work included designing and managing 30 Sony satellite offices nationwide, ranging from 6,000 SF to 100,000 SF ($50K-$500K), and included full office renovations, project management and construction implementation. Mary also managed award-winning direct retail store roll-outs featuring new concepts ranging from 3,000 to 6,000 SF ($20m). During her tenure at Sony, she maintained a proven track record of design excellence and strategic project management, and was awarded national recognition by Sony through two COO Awards, including retail store design and consolidation for Sony Electronics’ headquarters in San Diego, CA and Park Ridge, NJ.
Previous to Sony, Mary worked as an Associate/Project Designer at Gensler for almost 10 years, serving a wide range of clients with various project sizes ranging from 5,000 SF to 350,000 SF.
Mary holds a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Interior Design from the Pratt Institute of Art & Design in Brooklyn, New York.
