Michael J. Schaeffer, MAI, FRICS serves as Executive Managing Director of Valuation & Advisory of Cushman & Wakefield for the Midwest Region.
Mr. Schaeffer has been active in the appraisal of real estate since 1984. He has completed valuations of office buildings, regional and super-regional shopping centers, apartment buildings, industrial facilities, unimproved land, country clubs, subsidized housing units, nursing homes, retirement communities, department stores, automotive dealerships, proposed income-producing properties and various special purpose properties. Mr. Schaeffer also has had more than ten years of experience in new construction and renovation of commercial, industrial and specialized real estate properties. Mr. Schaeffer has prepared appraisals for acquisition, disposition, financing and portfolio management. In addition to valuing fee simple interests, Mr. Schaeffer has valued leased fee, leasehold, and partnership interests.
Mr. Schaeffer graduated in 1980 with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Cincinnati, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Graduate course work has been completed at Xavier University, in Cincinnati, Ohio, in Economics and Management. Mr. Schaeffer is a member of the Appraisal Institute, and is a Certified Real Estate Appraiser. Mr. Schaeffer received the distinguished Leo L. Majzels award in 1993 in recognition of his significant and outstanding contribution to the Valuation & Advisory Group.
