Richard S. Baumstein joined C&W in 1975 at its headquarters in midtown Manhattan. Since his move to New Jersey in 1980 he has specialized in major agency assignments for corporate users and developers/owners. He has been responsible for leasing in excess of 20 million sf of office space.
In addition to being a C&W shareholder, Mr. Baumstein was elected an Executive Director in 1994. He has been the recipient of C&W’s “Top 100” award for 15 years; the suburban tri-state region’s Top Producer two times; Gale & Wentworth’s “Broker of the Year” in 1989, 2000 and 2004; the 2006 and 2008 Hartz Mountain Industries “Office Broker of The Year.” In 1997, he was honored by Morris Area Development Group as their first recipient for the “Most Outstanding Broker” Award, and won the NAIOP’s “Creative Deal of the Year” Award for 2000 and a finalist in 2008 and 2014. Further, on numerous occasions, he has been a quoted source for market activity in Northern New Jersey by both the Ledger and The New York Times.
Mr. Baumstein attended the University of Wisconsin and graduated cum laude from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Economics and earned his MBA magna cum laude in Real Estate from American University.
