Rich Harris is a 22 year veteran of the commercial real estate industry and currently serves as the Managing Principal of the Raleigh-Durham office. Mr. Harris has completed over 1,250 commercial transactions totaling over $1B in transaction volume in his career and is widely regarded as one of the premier tenant representation brokers in the Triangle. He specializes in servicing high-growth and venture backed technology companies and has a strong reputation for integrity and aggressive advocacy with companies of all sizes. He has consistently demonstrated a unique ability to overcome significant market obstacles on behalf of his clients as evidenced by his receiving more than 75 letters of recommendation over his career.
Mr. Harris began his career in 1996 working for what would become known as GVA Advantis, a full service real estate company serving the Southeast. In 2008, he departed his position there as Executive Director and founded Synergy Commercial Advisors, a boutique real estate firm specializing in tenant representation and project leasing. In 2014, Synergy was acquired by Cushman & Wakefield, where Mr. Harris was then selected to lead and manage the Raleigh-Durham office. In October of 2010, Mr. Harris spearheaded the spinout of Realcore Applications, a proprietary software platform designed to serve the commercial real estate industry (commercial brokers, landlords and tenants) that was originally created for his company’s internal use. In 2012, he was a founding member of TAP (Triangle Angel Partners), an angel investment group focused on seed-funding Triangle area startups. Mr. Harris served as President of TAP’s Executive Committee in 2013.
Mr. Harris graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. He is a licensed real estate salesperson in the state of North Carolina.
