Richard incepted and leads Cushman & Wakefield’s Futures programme, a response to the disruptive factors impacting on the use of and investment in real estate.
The Futures programme has a mission ‘to reinvent real estate’, which includes driving an industry conversation around change, and facilitating innovation and creativity in the Cushman & Wakefield business. Richard writes a weekly blog ‘New Europe’, which discusses issues such as technology, society, urbanism and the economy, and has a regular readership of over 6,000. He also leads Cushman & Wakefield’s Futures Network, a team of 60 people drawn from across the business tasked with adding value to new and existing services, improving processes and engaging the workforce.
A real estate thought leader, Richard was previously Head of UK Insight & Research at Cushman & Wakefield. His prior career focused on land use, development and regeneration strategy. He has advised on some of the UK’s most significant development projects. Originally trained as a lawyer, skilled in financial appraisal, and as an MBA student, Richard has a diverse and lateral skill-set which he uses to pursue his passion of driving innovation and leading thinking about the changing world.
