Shannen O’Dell joined Cushman & Wakefield (formerly DTZ) in 2009 as a property administrator for a medical office portfolio for Hospital Corporation of America. She was promoted to a property manager and is responsible for the management and leasing of medical office buildings located throughout the Kansas City area. Within her portfolio she is responsible for all tenant leasing activities and ensuring strict adherence to the Stark compliance laws governing hospital and physician leasing practices. She also assists in the management of daily operations, monthly financial reporting, lease negotiations, and coordinating tenant improvement projects.
Shannen began her career in real estate working for a multi-family housing company as a leasing assistant. During the six years with the company her responsibilities included over sight of construction and completion of a new property, leasing 208 units in a new housing community, financial reporting, and managing a staff of three people.
