Profile

Todd Gast is responsible for the management of construction and development projects for Cushman & Wakefield in Kansas City. As part of the Project & Development Services team, Todd is most often involved with tenant finish projects as well as new construction, both sale and user, fee based consulting including managing office moves and energy analysis input for large build-out finishes. In addition, he offers clients strategic insight in project evaluation, financial planning, architectural input and review, construction management, contract administration and space consultation. 

In addition, Todd is responsible for oversight of engineering practices and facilities management on various projects. He not only works side-by-side with the technicians, but uses years of diagnostic history to help resolve and improve building operations and problem reoccurrence. Todd has over 30 years of experience in construction. Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, he was focused on both retail development and management. He was a key component in site selection as well as day-to-day involvement in both the planning and the construction process of new facilities.

Assignments

  • Ewing Marion Kauffman School - on behalf of the Kauffman Foundation, coordinated the build of a temporary charter school facility while locating permanent ground and ultimately finalizing construction and relocating the school in a new 190,000 square foot facility.
  • City Center Square - coordinated and provided oversight of major renovations in common areas and multiple tenant finish projects.
  • Humana - project oversight of small locations nationally and several major construction projects, including planning three large call centers from initial design to final move and startup.
  • Carter’s - worked on numerous fast paced retail sites to help Carter’s reach the annual growth they targeted including design review, construction, and associated travel requirements. 
  • Site Selection, development and construction of three, one-acre properties and subsequent construction and startup of three 4,000 square foot convenience stores.
  • Summit Technology Campus - assisted ownership’s team during modernizations of chilled water plant as well as incorporation of a new state-of-the art energy management system and subsequent resolution of multiple long-term issues. Additionally, assisted ownership with multiple capital improvement projects.
  • Numerous infrastructure improvements for Cushman & Wakefield managed properties including: chiller plant replacements, chiller abandonment and connection to city chilled water and steam, large-scale efficiency upgrades from lighting, motor control and building automation installation, and management and operations reviews to determine additional opportunities for increased efficiencies.
