Wayne Van Aken joined Cushman & Wakefield’s (formerly DTZ) New York office as a vice president in May 2012 with over 15 years of commercial real estate experience. Mr. Van Aken’s primary focus is tenant representation, specifically within New York’s Midtown South market, which includes the Gramercy, SoHo, Hudson Square, TriBeCa and Chelsea submarkets. In recent years, he has closed more than 60 transactions in Midtown South, accounting for more than 1.1 million square feet.

Mr. Van Aken represents several multi-market clients, having completed more than 700,000 square feet of lease and sale transactions since 2008 in 18 states and five countries. Most notable among these clients is technology distributor Westcon Group, which has a portfolio of more than 100 office, distribution and warehouse locations worldwide. Over the past eight years, he and his team have completed more than 30 acquisition and disposition transactions on Westcon Group’s behalf.

Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, Mr. Van Aken was a managing director at Grubb & Ellis, where he completed lease transactions with an aggregate value of more than $1 billion.
