About Us

What is Schools Around the World ?
Schools Around the World (SATW) a registered charity which exists to increase the aspirations of young people worldwide.
By partnering with schools wherever C&W operates around the world, SATW aims to help widen the horizons of young people (11-25 year olds) whose opportunities are limited by their domestic, social or financial circumstances. SATW aims to give these young people opportunities for improved education, help nurture their aspirations and promote their personal growth.
Structured events, visits and work experience for students organised by SATW all help them realise their potential.
A typical SATW school programme aims to encourage:
- the creation of professional and career awareness through C&W hosted or organised work experience
- the achievement of physical challenges and activities to foster in the students the concept of personal development and through individual endeavour or team building.
- the creation of cultural and social awareness in the students through C&W hosted and organised visits outside of the students' area or country of residence.
SATW whilst still in its infancy, has made great progress since it was established in 2005. Our relationship with our founding school - The Lillian Baylis Technology School in London has gone from strength to strength and new relationships have been formed with schools in Poland, Hungary, Russia and more recently Turkey. Other SATW school initiatives currently under review by the Charity trustees include schools in Czech Republic, Spain and Italy.
The Charity aims to eventually have adopted a school in each of the cities where Cushman & Wakefield has an office where they can facilitate programmes to encourage the students to reach their full personal and professional potential - to provide "inspirations for aspirations"
In selecting schools for adoption, the trustees will carefully review proposals put forward by the SATW Country Champion and will ensure that schools are chosen line with the objectives of the charity and meet specific criteria such as having high proportion of the students who could be considered to have limited opportunities due to social, domestic or financial circumstances.
As a non profit organisation, the charity relies entirely on donations and volunteers giving their time and talents.
Throughout EMEA individuals have organised a variety of events to raise money. The Funds raised for SATW help further the existing activities of SATW and extends its reach to other schools throughout Europe and worldwide. Funds are required to: facilitate co-operation with adopted schools and fostering and financing a structured programme of events, work experiences and cultural visits.
