SATW Funded Events

SATW Funded Events
The activities undertaken vary from area to area and school to school, depending on what is required. However, they all have one thing in common - to increase 'Inspirations for Aspirations'. So far, this has been done through the following. This list is not exhaustive and the Trustees are continually looking for different ways of relating to the students in a way that will benefit them:
- Beginners English and German
- Advanced English
- Work Experience in Hotels and Restaurants
- Work Experience at C&W Offices
- Workshop/Studio Refurbishments
- Development of Communication Skills
- Reading Groups
- Career Choices and Grant Writing Workshop
- Bowling Night
- Development of Tolerance Session
- Career Master (Profession Oriented Training)
- Visits to C&W Clients Offices
- Country Visits to Rome, London, Amsterdam, Paris, Lisbon and Brussels
The Trustees are keen for the students to get as much out of their experience with SATW as possible. However, to ensure the Charity is targeting the students who are most at need they have produced a Standard Activity Programme to act as a guideline for the Champions, Volunteers or School Staff
Please note: The Programme detailed is not exhaustive and various aspects can be adapted to fit your particular school:
- Career Development Workshops/Seminars - CV writing/appropriate behaviour in the workplace/what to expect at an interview/completing application forms
- Work Experience
- Social Activity - Team Building
- Cultural Activity that will tie in with the Country Visit
- Cultural Awareness Country Visit
The Trustees would like to emphasise that the Country Visit is something that the students should aspire to. Showing their persistence, hard work and dedication to taking an active role in other areas to increase their opportunities, the students would participate in a visit to another country which combines the elements they have been working on up to this point: Interacting with people of various ages and status, working together as a group, learning about different cultures and way of work.
