At what was the first Lilian Baylis Technology School Golf Clinic twenty one children were taught the basics of golf during a three-hour session, as well as competing in a highly contested match of boys versus girls. The girls won!
"It was great to see the students enjoy the experience. One of them commented to me that he thought golf was for 'old people but in fact it's great fun' - it would be great to play more".
With comments like these it certainly made the event worth while for everyone who gave up their time to coach the students," says Andrew Nicholson, the event organiser.
The Clinic raised £700/€1,000 to buy new sports equipment for the school. Helping Andrew to organise the event were Andrew Slater, David Harrison, Sarah Ticehurst and Keith Wilkes.
