Cushman & Wakefield Appoints Jun Matthews as Head of Project & Development Services in Japan

Cushman & Wakefield (Global Headquarters: Chicago, Illinois; Japan Headquarters: Nagatacho, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo), a leading global real estate services firm, has appointed Jun Matthews as the Head of Project & Development Services (PDS) in Japan

Jun will be responsible for expanding the firm’s service offerings to drive business growth within PDS in Japan. He will also be working closely with other service lines such as Asset Management and Tenant Advisory Group to capture rising demand from our investor and occupier client base to help them make informed decisions on capital works programs, commercial fit-outs, principal contracting, project and construction management and design & workplace services.

Jun, a licensed First-Class Architect, is a seasoned executive with nearly 30 years of experience in construction project management and operational strategy within Japan’s built environment, commercial real estate and workspace sectors. Before joining Cushman & Wakefield, he served as Head of Product at WeWork Japan, where he led cross-functional teams and oversaw end-to-end delivery of construction and capital improvement projects, ensuring alignment with brand, budget and customer experience goals. Previously, Jun was a Senior Project Manager at Lend Lease Japan, managing complex developments, including office, hospitality, industrial and retail projects—for international clients across diverse industries such as IT, consumer goods, heavy equipment, consulting, luxury retail and investments. He played a key role in master planning, procurement and quality control, while leading teams and ensuring timely, cost-effective execution.

Jun holds an MBA in Innovation Management from Kanazawa Toranomon Graduate School and a BA in Civil & Urban Engineering from Saitama University.
