Cushman & Wakefield (C&W) has been appointed to carry out the valuation of the forestry and agricultural portfolio of Hakuturi S.A., a company under the Teak Capital holding. The portfolio comprises over 7,000 hectares – equivalent to nearly 7,000 football pitches – distributed across Portugal.
The diversity and scale of this portfolio, which includes various forest species such as Maritime Pine, Corsican Pine, and Scots Pine, as well as other species like Sessile Oak, Holm Oak, Chestnut, and Buçaco Cedar, reflect the richness of Portugal’s natural resources and the growing interest in investments that combine economic return with environmental responsibility.
On the agricultural side, the portfolio features almond, walnut and hazelnut orchards, complemented by olive groves and vineyards, further enhancing its diversity and long-term sustainability.
Hakuturi S.A. is part of Teak Capital, a holding company founded in 2021, dedicated to forestry and agroforestry. Hakuturi is committed to promoting responsible forest and agricultural management practices, with a positive impact on carbon capture, biodiversity preservation, and the enhancement of ecosystem services essential to environmental balance.
According to Tomás Araújo, Senior Consultant at Cushman & Wakefield: “Valuing this forestry and agricultural portfolio was a particularly interesting challenge, both due to its scale and the complexity and diversity of the assets involved. The presence of multiple forest species and high-value crops reflects an integrated and strategic approach to natural resource management, combining profitability with sustainability. This work not only highlights the growing relevance of forestry and agricultural assets within institutional investment, but also reinforces Cushman & Wakefield’s role in developing specialised, rigorous solutions for this segment. It’s increasingly clear that the future of the sector lies in responsible investment — balancing economic goals with positive environmental and social impact.”
This valuation is part of C&W Portugal’s Forestry & Agribusiness service line, which includes investment advisory, valuations, market studies, sustainable development strategies (ESG), carbon credit project analysis, and strategic consultancy in the agricultural and forestry sectors.
