Cushman & Wakefield (C&W) advised on the sale of the former Corticeira Amorim factory in Corroios, in the municipality of Seixal. Covering an area of 43,000 m², the decommissioned industrial facility was acquired by Luz Saúde, the owner of the Hospital da Luz network of hospitals and clinics, with the intention of building a new hospital on the site. In this transaction, Cushman & Wakefield represented the property’s seller, Amorim.
The construction of this new hospital on Margem sul, particularly in the Corroios area of Seixal, is seen as an urgent priority due to the high population density, the increasing strain on Garcia de Orta Hospital, the critical need for rapid emergency response, and the importance of ensuring fairer and more effective access to healthcare in the region.
“We are very pleased to have contributed to the future transformation of this former industrial site, located in an urban area, and we firmly believe that this new healthcare facility will be essential in meeting the needs of the local community. This operation is the result of collaboration between the Industrial & Logistics and Retail Agency teams, highlighting the dynamism of Cushman & Wakefield,” said Sérgio Nunes, Head of Industrial, Logistics & Land at Cushman & Wakefield.
