Cushman & Wakefield also holds the exclusive representation of the brand in Porto, for the opening of a new La Mafia se sienta a la mesa restaurant.
The restaurant group La Mafia se sienta a la mesa (LMssLM), part of the Spanish group La Mafia, has chosen the city of Braga to begin its expansion into the north of Portugal. Opened in early July, the new venue is located in Liberdade Street Fashion and spans 300m², featuring an outdoor terrace with a capacity for 144 people. In this transaction, Cushman & Wakefield (C&W) represented the landlord in the lease agreement.
Liberdade Street Fashion is a mixed-use development in the center of Braga, combining retail, dining, office, and residential spaces, along with a public car park offering over 200 spaces. With a total of 16 stores and a diverse commercial offering—from fashion to culture, dining, and services—it features both national and international brands such as Purificación Garcia, Tiffosi, Lanidor, Globe, Springfield, Throttleman, Antonius, Bertrand, Wells, among others. The arrival of La Mafia se sienta a la mesa enhances and diversifies the existing dining options in the development and the city.
The LMssLM Group was founded in 2000 in Zaragoza and has its own factory with a logistics platform responsible for distributing products to all its business units. With over 25 years of experience, the group has established itself as a reference in Italian cuisine, known for its authenticity, high-quality ingredients, and trendsetting restaurant design and décor. It currently operates over 100 locations across Spain, Portugal, and Andorra.
“The opening of La Mafia se sienta a la mesa at Liberdade Street Fashion strengthens the development’s position as a key commercial destination in Braga and reflects the city’s growing appeal to both national and international brands. The arrival of new concepts like this one confirms Braga’s commercial potential, especially in a year when it holds the title of Portuguese Capital of Culture, amid strong urban development, increased tourism, and a favorable environment for investment and innovation,” says Susana Pires, Senior Retail Consultant at Cushman & Wakefield.
According to representatives of La Mafia se sienta a la mesa, “After opening two restaurants in Lisbon, we are excited to launch in such an important city as Braga. This is our first location in the north of the country, and we hope to meet expectations. Braga already has a high-quality culinary scene, and we aim to win over the locals with humility, great products, and quality service.”
This new opening strengthens the brand’s presence in Portugal, following the two restaurants already operating in Lisbon—specifically in Parque das Nações and Avenidas Novas. Cushman & Wakefield also holds the exclusive representation of the brand in Porto for the upcoming opening of another La Mafia se sienta a la mesa restaurant.
