The office building, future headquarters of Deloitte, was recently inaugurated following a major refurbishment, representing an investment of over €35 million.
Cushman & Wakefield (C&W) advised Osborne+Co and Adriparte on both the sale and lease of the renovated MUTUAL building, located on Rua Gonçalo Sampaio, one of Porto’s prime office areas. The property was fully leased to Deloitte, which will establish its new headquarters in the city there, accommodating more than 600 employees. Simultaneously, C&W also advised on the sale of the building to BPI Gestão de Ativos, the entity that completed the acquisition.
With a total area of 10,300 m², the MUTUAL building was designed to meet the demands of a contemporary work environment, focusing on well-being, functional efficiency, and sustainability. Key features of the building include over 1,400 m² of outdoor areas, a rooftop with panoramic views over the Douro River and the Atlantic Ocean, 144 parking spaces, changing rooms, green spaces, and areas dedicated to soft mobility.
Sustainability was a central pillar of the project, which meets the most demanding ESG criteria. The building holds LEED Gold and WELL Gold certifications and is equipped with solar panels, electric vehicle chargers, bicycle parking, and infrastructure to support sustainable mobility.
“This project makes us very proud for several reasons. It is an excellent example of how we can serve our clients with integrated solutions, offering a 360º real estate vision, involving a full lease and subsequent sale of the property. It reaffirms the dynamism of our Porto-based team and marks the return of institutional investment in office space to the city,” said Maria João Pinto, Associate and Head of Offices Porto at Cushman & Wakefield.
