The new space, with a total area of 200m², is located at number 41 of Fontes Pereira de Melo – one of Lisbon’s main avenues. Cushman & Wakefield (C&W) supported this operation on behalf of Deka, the property owner.
With seven decades of experience in the publishing and bookselling market, Grupo Almedina now has 14 bookstores located in Lisbon, Almada, Porto, Gaia, Coimbra, and Braga, as well as an online store (www.almedina.net). In addition to retail, the publishing arm of Grupo Almedina comprises four imprints: Edições Almedina (publishing in various technical fields and market leader in legal publications), Edições 70 (a historic publisher in the social sciences and humanities), Actual Editora (economics), and Minotauro (fiction and children's literature).
Maria José Almeida, Associate at Cushman & Wakefield, stated: “The opening of Livraria Almedina in the heart of Lisbon reinforces access to culture and knowledge. It is a privilege to contribute to a project that combines editorial tradition and innovation, enhancing physical spaces dedicated to culture and sharing.”
