Cushman & Wakefield (C&W), a leading global real estate consultancy, announces the appointment of Álvaro Forero and Inês Sousa, who will be responsible for the Living & Alternatives and Private Wealth areas, respectively.
Álvaro Forero, Senior Consultant in Cushman & Wakefield’s Investment team, has been developing his activity in the office, logistics and, more recently, alternative segments. Throughout his time at the consultancy, he has supported investors across the entire investment cycle, from deal structuring and financial analysis to the due diligence and transaction closing phases. Before joining Cushman & Wakefield in January 2022, he worked at the Colombian company Duralab SAS as a Project Engineer, focusing on financial analysis and project management. Additionally, he was part of the M&A (Mergers & Acquisitions) team at Enduring Ventures, strengthening acquisition analysis and execution processes. He holds a degree in Civil Engineering from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and a Master’s in Finance from Nova School of Business and Economics and Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá.
“I take this appointment with great pride and a strong sense of responsibility. We want to position ourselves as the leading consultancy for investment in alternative segments, and that is what we will continue working towards, with maximum commitment and dedication,” says Álvaro Forero regarding his appointment.
Inês Sousa assumes the position of Head of Private Wealth at Cushman & Wakefield Portugal. Throughout her journey in the investment team, she has been involved in several major transactions, specializing in advising Family Offices and HNWIs (High-Net-Worth Individuals) on strategic operations, consolidating her experience in private investments. Before joining Cushman & Wakefield in 2022, she was a Lawyer at Sonae Sierra and also worked at Caixa – Banco de Investimento and CBRE IM in Madrid. She holds a Law degree from the University of Lisbon Faculty of Law, a postgraduate degree in Corporate Finance, and a Master’s in Management from Nova School of Business and Economics.
“Real estate investment by private investors is not new, but it has gained significant prominence in recent years. Our goal is to continue advising Family Offices and HNWIs, both national and international, adding value to their investment decisions and identifying opportunities aligned with their capital preservation objectives. I am extremely proud to assume the leadership of this segment in Portugal,” says Inês Sousa about her appointment.
David Lopes, Head of Capital Markets at Cushman & Wakefield in Portugal, reinforces that “the appointment of Álvaro and Inês as heads of these investment areas strengthens the commitment we are making in niche, high-potential sectors. Investor interest in these sectors has been growing, and we believe that a dedicated and specialized investment team will further enhance the quality of the service provided and, in turn, the success of our clients in their real estate operations, whether they are institutional or private investors."
