Spoonz Korea: Launching A Character Flagship Store
01 THE CHALLENGE
NC Soft, the number one game producer in Korea, has led the internet gaming industry not only locally but also internationally for more than two decades now.
Levelling up its market position as a premier game producer, NC Soft planned to launch a new character brand, Spoonz. Along with it, the company wanted a flagship store where fans could have fun.
Aware of the opportunity this would bring, Cushman & Wakefield Korea’s Retail Highlight team followed developments at NC Soft closely months before the project was announced.
02 THE SOLUTION
When the project started, it was entrusted to us. The Cushman & Wakefield team searched for properties and presented a full market study of each potential district.
From the range of options we gave, NC Soft chose Garosugil, a good spot where Spoonz could attract both foreign and Korean visitors.
Apart from helping find the best place for the launch, Cushman & Wakefield also assisted NC Soft in charting every possible opportunity in Garosugil.
03 THE RESULT
In the end, we were able to close the deal with satisfaction from both the tenant and landlord.
Spoonz store in Garosugil opened in April 2019. The first floor served as a character store and the second floor a character café.
Collaborating with K-Pop stars too for new product releases, Spoonz has now become a landmark attraction in Garosugil that many people visit.
