Steven Siebert heads new business area Industrial & Logistics Services Germany

Verena Bauer • 04/10/2021

Steven Siebert has been appointed Head of Industrial & Logistics Services Germany at the international real estate consultancy firm Cushman & Wakefield (C&W). In this newly-created Frankfurt-based position, he will be responsible for building up this business area throughout Germany. The goal is to assemble a team of 30 employees over the next two years, which will provide clients with comprehensive buying, selling and leasing services in the industrial and logistics sector. The 42-year-old will report to Alexander Kropf, Head of Capital Markets Germany.

Steven Siebert has around 20 years’ experience in asset and investment management of industrial and logistics real estate, acquired on both the brokerage and owner sides. Prior to joining C&W, he was a senior asset manager at Nuveen Real Estate for four years, where he was responsible for all German logistics properties and also supported the implementation of the European logistics strategy as Portfolio Manager. Before that, he led the Industrial Investment team in the Rhine-Ruhr region for Jones Lang LaSalle for around four years. Steven Siebert holds an MBA in International Real Estate Management from Biberach University and is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

Alexander Kropf, Head of Capital Markets Germany, comments: "The Covid-19 pandemic has once again shown the importance of functioning logistics for the national economy. As a result, and driven by the growth in online trading, national and international investors’ interest in logistics properties has skyrocketed. Therefore, it is logical for us to expand the corresponding area with the associated services for C&W's Clients. With Steven Siebert at the helm of this division, we have been able to gain a proven expert to achieve this."

"My goal is to build up an experienced team at C&W that will ensure a fully comprehensive real estate service in the field of industry and logistics throughout Germany. The one-team approach is particularly important to me. Our clients should be supported via a single source when buying, selling and renting and have contact persons in the various German regions," Steven Siebert explains his plans.

In the USA, C&W is the market leader among real estate consultancies in the industrial and logistics segment and is also already successfully established in Eastern Europe and the Netherlands. With the establishment of this business unit in Germany and the prior implementation of these services in the UK and France, C&W is now fulfilling its EMEA region growth agenda in this sector.
