Martin Polifke new Head of Business Development Services – Alexander Waldmann appointed as Team Leader Research & Insight

New appointments from 1 August 2025  

Cushman & Wakefield, a global real estate consultancy, has appointed Martin Polifke as Head of Business Development Services Germany with effect from 1 August 2025.

In addition, Alexander Waldmann will take over the management of Cushman & Wakefield's research team as Team Leader Research & Insight Germany within the Business Development Services division, which combines research and marketing & communications under one roof.

Martin Polifke previously worked at the auditing and consulting firm Forvis Mazars, where he was responsible for marketing and business development. Other stations in his career have included KPMG, Deutsche Bahn and Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk (MDR). Polifke succeeds Verena Bauer, who has held the position of Head of Business Development Services for almost two years and was previously Head of Marketing & Communications Germany from 2020. 

Verena Bauer will take on the role of EMEA Head of Sector & Service Line Marketing in the Business Development Services division from August this year. In this position, she will work closely with the EMEA sector and services managers to drive Cushman & Wakefield's market presence at European level with a focus on sectoral and integrated solutions. 

Alexander Waldmann will also join Cushman & Wakefield on 1 August 2025 as Team Leader Research & Insight Germany. He succeeds Helge Zahrnt, who moved to Newmark in mid-2025. Before joining Cushman & Wakefield, Waldmann worked for NAI Apollo's apollo valuation & research GmbH for more than 12 years and most recently held the position of Director.
