Cushman & Wakefield strengthens office letting beyond the German top locations

Verena Bauer • 26/04/2022

International real estate consultancy firm Cushman & Wakefield (C&W) has expanded its Office Agency National Team. This team services all rental space searches in all German locations that are not in the top cities. With the additions of Steffen Gihr and Jerome Garnatz, it now has ten members and will be further strengthened by the end of the year.

Steffen Gihr was head of office leasing at Larbig & Mortag prior to joining C&W and was also company signatory. The 36-year-old holds a bachelor's degree in Banking & Finance and has also worked for BNP Paribas Real Estate, among others. He will work for C&W from Cologne and thus strengthen the branch office in the cathedral city.

Jerome Garnatz has already been with C&W since 2019 as senior consultant in the company's Hamburg office market team. From the same location, he will take over responsibility in the Office Agency National Leasing Team for the northern German locations, focusing on Hanover in particular. The 32-year-old real estate manager has around ten years’ real estate experience. His career has included roles with Jones Lang LaSalle, CBRE and Angermann.

Nicolas Heisig, Head of Office Agency National at C&W, comments: "Office space in Germany's top-5 cities is still in high demand among companies. However, it is also very cost-intensive. Therefore, B-cities with good transport links are becoming ever more important. The rent thus saved can be invested in more attractive workspaces or technical equipment, for example. Against this background, we will continue to expand our activities beyond the well-known A-cities in order to be able to continue to serve our clients optimally."
