Mario Herbst and Hanjo Theiss take on key positions at C&W Germany

Martin Polifke • 02/10/2025

Changes in the management of Cushman & Wakefield's German business as of 1 October 2025:
Mario Herbst has been appointed Head of Leasing and Tenant Representation Germany, while Hanjo Theiss takes on the role of Head of Office Agency and Office Sector Germany. Both succeed Pierre Nolte, who has been Head of Germany since August 2025. Since then, Nolte has also continued to serve as Head of Office & Leasing on an interim basis.

In his new position, Mario Herbst will take over the overall management of all leasing departments at Cushman & Wakefield in Germany. In addition to office space leasing, this also includes other sectors such as logistics and retail. Herbst began his career at Cushman & Wakefield in 2006 and has been working for the company again as a partner for over nine years. Since mid-2024, he has served as Head of Tenant Representation Germany, making him the key contact for large corporate clients operating throughout Germany. Mario Herbst holds a degree in business administration (FH) with a focus on real estate from HfWU Nürtingen-Geislingen.

Hanjo Theiss, MRICS, HypZert F, has been with Cushman & Wakefield for 13 years, initially in the Valuation & Advisory division, then at Capital Markets Frankfurt & Regions. In June 2024, he took over as partner and Head of Office Agency Frankfurt, managing the office leasing department in the Main metropolis, a position he will continue to hold. Theiss holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Real Estate Management, also from HfWU Nürtingen-Geislingen.

Pierre Nolte, Head of Germany at Cushman & Wakefield: "With the new structure, Cushman & Wakefield is strengthening its strategic focus on the German market and establishing clear responsibilities for the leasing and office sectors. The development of Mario and Hanjo reflects the corporate culture of Cushman & Wakefield in Germany. With their experience in dealing with property users and investors, key business areas are now optimally staffed."
