Castellana Properties has appointed Cushman & Wakefield to take over the management of Bonaire Shopping Centre in Aldaia (Valencia), one of Spain’s most prominent retail assets.
The centre comprises nearly 55,000 sq m of retail space and maintains an occupancy rate of close to 98%. It forms part of a larger retail complex with approximately 135,000 sq m of total commercial space.
This new mandate follows Castellana Properties’ acquisition of the shopping centre last year. Cushman & Wakefield will be responsible for the asset’s operational management, with the objective of optimizing its performance and enhancing its long-term value.
Bonaire is home to more than 150 retail operators and offers a diverse mix of brands, including Alcampo, Inditex, Primark, JD Sports, Cinesa, Mango, and Fnac, among others. It is one of the largest shopping centres in Spain and has been recognized among the country's top ten retail assets.
In terms of sustainability, Bonaire holds a BREEAM “Outstanding” rating for management and an EPC Grade A energy performance certificate.
Javier Hernández, Portfolio Asset Manager for Spain at Castellana Properties, commented: “Over the past year, Bonaire has significantly strengthened its market position by welcoming new brands to its retail mix, creating employment opportunities, and achieving remarkable sales growth. It is a leading shopping centre with very strong performance and a distinctive commercial offering. We are confident that, together with Cushman & Wakefield, we will continue driving its growth, enhancing the customer experience, and consolidating its role as one of Spain’s leading retail destinations.”
Rafael Mateu, Head of Retail Sector at Cushman & Wakefield, added: “Bonaire is one of the strongest and most dominant retail assets in Spain. For Cushman & Wakefield, taking on its management alongside Castellana Properties strengthens our relationship with a key partner and allows us to continue enhancing the centre’s value and positioning over the long term.”
