Stories

Oxford University Press Spain

Oxford University Press (OUP), one of the most prestigious publishing houses in the world.

01 The Opportunity

Cushman&Wakefield (C&W) had previously developed projects for OUP in other countries and, for this one, in particular, the Agency and Project&Development Services (PDS) teams joined to provide the best solution to OUP requirements.

In the first place, OUP´s vision was to optimize its office space in Madrid. Therefore, C&W starts supporting with negotiations with the landlord so they could proceed with adjusting their office space to their new ways of working, focusing on agile, more flexible and adapted areas.

OUP´s goal is to get spaces that provide better environments for a variety of activities, always seeking the balance between different space typologies that enable and foster creativity and teamwork.

02 The Solution

Being these goals set for the project, Cushman&Wakefield initiate the process with a multidisciplinary team consisting of Agency and PDS professionals.

On this occasion, C&W had the opportunity to come along with OUP during the negotiations with the Landlord and manage the execution project as Project Manager during their office´s construction works.

Due to the management strategy designed for the project, C&W improved the timelines preventing OUP from having a double lease for their offices.

03 The Results

Eventually, on the 7th of October 2022, a new Oxford University Press space inaugurates in Spain, with an outstanding outcome and the client´s great satisfaction.
Along the process, even though C&W managed to shorter the project´s timeline, it was possible to maximise the client´s economic resources to create an office space answering thoroughly to OUP requirements.
Also, as a key factor, C&W joined OUP every step of the way, even to visit colleagues in the UK to check on the project´s progress.
OUP´s new workplace consists of an open space with different types of workstations, and a wide variety of collaboration areas, closed or open ones, to meet, socialise and work in a flexible way according to the new ways of working and the latest trends in the workplace.
Also, every meeting room has technological and audiovisual equipment, and the lockers and cabinets´ location slightly creates different areas, not closing them with physical barriers, so people can use and move around all areas in the office space.
