
Despite development challenges among FLAP-D markets, there remains over 3GW of capacity across the five markets that are either under construction or in planning. Growth in secondary markets across Europe has also continued, with particular focus toward both the Nordic and Mediterranean markets. In Scandinavia, markets such as Stockholm have benefitted from prolific renewable power. While in the Mediterranean, more affordable land and proximal access to cable landing stations that link Europe with growing markets in Africa, the Middle East and into Asia Pacific region have drawn significant attention to markets in Italy, Spain, Southern France and along the Aegean Sea. Opportunities remain for discerning investors in both large and small markets, as cloud providers expand availability zones and new data centre clusters arise.
