The Cadillac/Fairview Tower is a unique six-sided building faced with a silver-blue reflective glass curtain wall. The main entrance to the tower is a 30 foot lobby finished in marble and brass, with a canopied glass roof. Two escalators lead from the lobby to the 15 Otis elevators which service the building. For security, a building control centre is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to ensure careful monitoring of all equipment and life safety systems. In addition, a diesel-driven generator is available to provide emergency electrical power. Ventilation hours are from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Mondays to Saturdays; extra hours are at $40 per hour.
The Tower is directly attached to the southern end of the Eaton Centre, therefore, a wide variety of retailing and restaurant services are Immediately available. In addition, there is direct access from the building to the Queen Street subway stop, to Simpsons and to the underground pedestrian mall. Both the Old and New City Hall are located to the west of the building and major office tower complexes and hotels are within easy walking distance.
