The Metrocentre development will consist of three silver Reflective glass buildings, surrounding a 5 acre park. Designed by Arthur Erickson, each building will be narrow at the base with a sloped overhang. Heating and cooling will be supplied by a variable air volume system with compartmentalized fan units on each floor. Ventilation will be through lighting fixtures. Five high speed elevators will service the 15 floors. Electrical and telphone distribution will be provided by 20 X60"air returns with a high quality acrylic lens. Computerized light switching will maximize energy efficiency. The building will be sprinklered throughout and equipped with a zoned fire alarm and smoke detection system. 24 hour security will be provided with a photo-identification card access system. Ventilation hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays; extra hours are at $45 per hour.

Metrocentre is located on the west side of the financial district. Several first class hotels such as the Convention Centre and the Royal York are within easy walking distance, along with the many shops and services within the underground pedestrian walkway. Located close to the St. Andrews subway station, Union station and the Gardiner Expressway, the site has excellent accessibility.
