Deloitte moves to the Aura building, located at 471 Avenida Diagonal in Barcelona. The company will occupy the entire prime office space, which totals 14,100 sqm distributed over five open-plan floors, with an area of up to 3,000 sqm on each level. This is the most significant rental operation by size in the history of the business area or CBD (Central Business District) of Barcelona to date.
Inaugurated a year ago, Aura is the first building in the city's leading business core to offer office spaces of these dimensions and characteristics, and the only newly built building that integrates mixed uses such as offices, retail, terraces and garden areas in the area. Aura has more than 21,500 sqm distributed over 14,100 sqm for offices, 6,178 sqm for retail and catering, with firms such as Nike, Sephora and the gourmet supermarket of El Corte Inglés, as well as 2,500 sqm of garden areas and terraces, a 1,400 sqm rooftop, auditorium and three floors of parking. Aura also distinguishes itself for being the first biotechnological building in Barcelona, incorporating green roofs with biological batteries capable of generating energy through the activity of microorganisms present under the plants. In addition, the property has LEED, WELL and WiredScore Platinum certifications, in addition to the European LEVEL(s) certification, designed to evaluate and improve the sustainability of buildings throughout their life cycle.
The full occupancy of Aura's offices consolidates the Diagonal area as one of the strategic business hubs in Barcelona and the building as a new icon of the city and a symbol of urban transformation that responds to a demand that requires high-quality, sustainable assets, with open-plan spaces, well located and aimed at attracting and retaining talent.
Cushman & Wakefield, Aura’s strategic partner
Real estate consultancy Cushman & Wakefield has been in charge of commercializing the entire building since its inauguration in 2024, and has previously also led its conception, design and strategic positioning. The consultancy firm inaugurated the building in March 2024 at a presentation ceremony attended by the Mayor of Barcelona, Mr. Jaume Collboni, and the main executives of more than 50 leading companies in Barcelona. Oriol Barrachina, CEO of Cushman & Wakefield Spain, predicted that day, convinced of the success of the project, that one of the attending companies would occupy the office space, and so it has happened.
Barrachina explained that the real estate consultancy "has carried out a very selective, orderly and strategic marketing to maintain the prime positioning of the building, and that it has generated great interest from large companies".
The main manager of Cushman & Wakefield in Spain added that "this is a strategic operation for the positioning of the city and its CBD, a key area for Barcelona to compete with large European cities". Barrachina added that Deloitte's commitment to the Aura building "reaffirms the major trends that we have been observing in the sector: the growing weight of talent as a decision-making engine in the sector, the preference of companies for high-quality products and the importance of urban environments as a differential value to attract leading companies". Barrachina added that "Aura is an example of how the transformation of the city, through the rehabilitation and change of use of historic buildings, can become a driving force for improving the environment for residents and citizens."
