How The World Bank Handled Its Office Renovations

The Challenge
The World Bank (Vietnam) is located on Level 2, 6, 7 and 8 of 63 Ly Thai To, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi. As part of The World Bank’s business development plan, they decided to expand their office on level 2 and refurbish the other floors of the building. They wanted their facilities to be upgraded and their offices to have a more collaborative work environment.
Cushman & Wakefield was appointed by The World Bank to provide project management services.

The Solution
The Cushman & Wakefield team faced the challenge of coordinating the office refurbishment while operations were ongoing. However, we were able to manage stakeholders’ expectations, regardless of the teams being based in different countries. In addition, we were able to work with multiple service providers and ensure they were aligned with the IBRD process.

The Results
The project was executed in three phases, the last of which was completed in May 2018. The entire project was delivered one week ahead of the stipulated end date and was delivered within budget. In doing so Cushman & Wakefield manage to exceed The World Bank’s expectations.
