HIGHLIGHTED CITIES

  • Barcelona - Barcelona, Spain’s second-largest city and the capital of Catalonia, is one of the country’s most visited destinations. It is known for its strong economy, recently ranked as Europe’s fifth-best city for business. The main shopping district is around Plaça Catalunya, with leading Spanish and international brands.

  • Bilbao - Several major facilities were created or renewed, including the Euskalduna Conference Centre, the Music Centre, and the iconic Guggenheim Museum Bilbao. Tourism has grown in importance, contributing strongly to the regional economy. Bilbao’s main retail area is centered around Gran Vía, which is also its business hub.

  • Madrid - Madrid continues to evolve to meet changing retail trends. In the Centro district, many streets have been refurbished and adapted for new brands, helping solve the shortage of quality retail and hospitality spaces. Serrano is the main commercial artery, home to luxury, premium, and mass-market brands.

  • Malaga - Málaga’s rich artistic heritage and cultural infrastructure were recognised when it was shortlisted for the European Capital of Culture in 2016. Despite its relatively small high street retail scene, the city attracts strong interest. Calle Marqués de Larios is the prime retail street, highly sought after by national and international brands.

  • Sevilla - Seville is rich in traditional culture, with districts like Triana and La Macarena reflecting its heritage. It has one of Europe’s largest historic centres and is a major tourist destination, known for its World Heritage landmarks. Its retail streets combine traditional local shops with new national and international mass-market brands.

  • Valencia - Over the last two decades, Valencia has benefited from sustained public and private investment in urban renewal and infrastructure. While domestic demand remains strong, international tourism has steadily grown thanks to strong connectivity and a competitive Mediterranean position. Its retail streets enjoy high footfall, strong demand, and a solid mix of national and international brands.

  • Zaragoza - As of 2025, Zaragoza has around 727,475 inhabitants, making it Spain’s fourth-largest city. Its high street retail area is concentrated in the city centre, led by Paseo de la Independencia. Other notable streets include Paseo de las Damas and Calle León XIII, with many local retailers, national and international brands, restaurants, and tapas bars.
