The Brief
The Casino RSM Club faced the challenge of needing to revitalise its aging facilities to meet modern aesthetic standards and member expectations. The goal was to upgrade high-traffic zones, including the reception, boardroom, auditorium, bar, and lobby, without alienating current members or halting the club's revenue-generating operations. The existing space required significant updates to lighting, furnishings, and finishes to create a contemporary environment. Furthermore, the external façade needed a refresh to align with the new interior design and improve street appeal. The project carried inherent risks associated with uncovering undocumented site conditions while operating in a live environment.

Our Approach
The partnership with Cushman & Wakefield began with a commitment to a "Design & Build" delivery model that prioritised operational continuity. The Casino RSM Club didn’t settle for a standard renovation that would close its doors. Instead, the club collaborated with Cushman & Wakefield to develop a flexible schedule involving extensive after-hours work. A core strategy of value engineering was implemented early on, supporting informed decision-making and cost visibility as the scope evolved. This approach allowed the team to address latent structural issues proactively while maintaining the project's visual impact and functional requirements.

The Solution
Cushman & Wakefield executed a comprehensive fit-out across the ground floor lobby and Level 1. The team transformed the reception, boardroom, and bar areas with updated lighting and premium finishes, creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Simultaneously, the external façade was repainted to complement the refreshed interiors. When undocumented site conditions arose, the team conducted thorough site investigations and adaptive planning to resolve issues and maintain safe access in a live environment. This hands-on management style helped the club remain operational throughout the works, supporting continuity of member experience during construction.
