1 The Opportunity
The monumental building and former ABN Amro bank head quarters in the city center of Amsterdam measures approx. 42.500 sqm and was built around 1932. The building was renovated in 2006 and houses amongst others offices, retail, a parking garage, bars and restaurant and a supermarket. Deka Immobilien purchased The Bank in Amsterdam Center in 2015. Due to the age of the building and owners ambition to position the building in the top ranking of Amsterdam city center office buildings several projects were executed since the owner aquired the building. A heat and cold storage was taken into use, the building got a Breeam certification, the situation around the entrance of the suopermarket was improved and recently we started upgrading the first office floors.
2 The Approach
Cushman & Wakefield was instructed as property and project manager right after the acquisition of the building. Asset Services, Project Development Services and Office Consultancy are working closely together to execute long term plans which were set in close cooperation with the owner. By using knowledge out of all disciplines the approach is supported by the involved experts and contribute in long lasting solutions and a efficient and commercially successful operation.
3 The Result
The running projects and improvements contribute in adding value to the property, staying on top of the market standards and still operate a monumental and multi functional building on a challenging location.
