New lease solidifies USG as anchor tenant at 550 W. Adams St. well into next decade
CHICAGO, November 21, 2025 – Cushman & Wakefield (NYSE: CWK), a leading global real estate services firm, today announced it has represented USG Corporation in a long-term lease renewal of its 165,000-square-foot global headquarters office at 550 W. Adams St., in downtown Chicago.
USG is the leader in manufacturing high quality building materials and has more than 50 manufacturing facilities across North America. Formed in Chicago in 1902, the company is the largest producer of wallboard in the U.S., a top maker of ceilings products, and the largest manufacturer of gypsum products overall in North America.
Cushman & Wakefield’s Chris Wood, Vice Chair, and David Stefancic, Executive Director, represented USG in the new lease. Property ownership, Manova Partners, was represented by Stream Realty Partners’ Mark Bâby and Katie Hull.
The Cushman team has a long-standing relationship with USG dating back two decades to the original 2004 global headquarters lease that resulted in the development of 550 West Adams. Cushman & Wakefield will also provide project management services to USG as part of a renovation of the headquarter facilities.
“USG’s presence in the Chicago area dates back over 100 years,” said Wood. “The new lease solidifies their standing as the anchor tenant at 550 W. Adams for years to come.”
