MELBOURNE – One of Australia’s most revered hotel and hospitality assets, The Continental Sorrento is set to hit the market on a sale and leaseback basis, exclusively through JLL and Cushman & Wakefield.

The landmark property, which re-opened in 2022 following an extensive multi-million-dollar redevelopment, presents a rare opportunity to acquire one of the country’s most prestigious coastal hospitality assets, underpinned by leases with best-in-class operators.

With a rich history dating back to 1875, The Continental Sorrento features a 108-room luxury hotel, multiple dining venues including fine dining restaurants and casual eateries, versatile event spaces for weddings and corporate functions, the exclusive Aurora Spa & Bathhouse, and 154 underground car parks all over a 5,575 sqm freehold land parcel.

Located approximately 90 minutes from Melbourne, Sorrento is renowned for its pristine beaches, upscale boutiques along the famous Ocean Beach Road, and vibrant food & beverage scene. The town serves as the holiday playground for Melbourne’s elite and is adjacent to acclaimed wineries and golf courses, making it a year-round destination for domestic and international visitors.

IHG Hotels & Resorts, a global hospitality leader, manages the hotel's operations under their prestigious InterContinental brand. The culinary experience is crafted by renowned industry experts Craig Shearer and Scott Pickett, who oversee the food and beverage offerings meanwhile, the Aurora Spa & Bathhouse, a sanctuary of wellness, is under the guidance of its founder Lyndall Mitchell, an innovator in the health and wellness sector.

Sorrento Lodge, a local key workers accommodation facility, located at 211 Ocean Beach Road, is also being offered as part of the sale. The two assets are being offered on a sale and leaseback basis from the current owners, Trenerry Consortium, through JLL agents Peter Harper, Nick MacFie, Stuart Taylor and Will Connolly, along with Cushman & Wakefield’s Daniel Wolman, Oliver Hay, Nick Rathgeber, Leigh Melbourne and Leon Ma.
