Gen Offices: a new social hub connecting teams in Pankrác
The renovation of Gen offices in Prague’s Pankrác district transformed four floors, each covering approximately 2,000 sq m, into a modern workplace that supports collaboration, information sharing and everyday interaction among employees. A key part of the project was the seventh floor, which was converted into a central social hub featuring a reception area, café-style space and auditorium for company-wide meetings.

The Opportunity
Following the merger of two technology companies, Gen needed offices that would better reflect its new corporate culture and support stronger connections between teams across the organisation. The existing layout needed to be adapted to encourage collaboration, informal meetings and effective information sharing.
The aim of the project was to create an environment that would provide a representative setting for both visitors and employees, strengthen the brand identity and, at the same time, improve the quality of the everyday working environment across all affected floors.

The Solution
The team of architects at Cushman & Wakefield, namely Ing. arch. Marie Vlčková, Ing. arch. Dominik Syrový and Ing. arch. Michaela Horáková, designed the reorganisation of four office floors with a focus on creating a central social facility on the seventh floor. The original canteen was replaced by a large-capacity café-style space directly connected to an auditorium intended for company-wide meetings.
The reception was moved to the social floor, where it now serves as both an orientation point and a social hub for the offices. The space connects the two opposite façades of the building and opens up a view through the entire floor. A large-scale company logo positioned at the centre of the café and reception area has become a natural point of identification within the interior.
The interior colour scheme is based on Gen’s corporate guidelines and, in the highlighted spatial elements, works with layers of transparent surfaces inspired by the work of Nobuhiro Nakanishi and Carlos Cruz-Diez’s principle of Transchromie. Contrasting compositions made of coloured plexiglass in the reception area change the perception of the space depending on the light and the visitor’s movement.
The solution also included a facelift of all working floors, improving the quality not only of the representative office areas but also of the standard employee zones. The graphic elements and wayfinding system were prepared by Drawetc studio.

The Results
The new offices create a clearer, more open and better-connected working environment that supports everyday interaction among employees. The seventh floor has become the main meeting place, accommodating everything from informal conversations and work away from the standard workstation to larger company events.
At the same time, the project strengthened Gen’s visual identity within the space and provided employees with improved facilities across all renovated floors. The result is a modern office environment that combines functionality, representativeness and a distinctive design concept, with views over Prague’s rooftops and Prague Castle.
