Canon Yau is Managing Director of Equity, Debt & Structured Finance (EDSF) under Capital Markets. He is based in Hong Kong and will focus exclusively on equity fund placement, structured debt advisory, and capital formation.
 
Canon has over 20 years of experience in direct investments, deal structuring and capital raising for real estate strategies across Greater China, Australia, EMEA and the US. Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, Canon was Head of Product & Client Management for Schroders Capital, the regional real estate investment platform of Schroders plc, where he was responsible for product development, fundraising, and capital formation for new strategic partnerships in Asia Pacific. Prior to Schroders, Canon spent five years as a Senior Director of CBRE Capital Advisors, where he was responsible for cross-border capital raising and investment advisory for over US$1.2 billion of real estate transactions. Prior to CBRE, Canon was based in the UAE as a Vice President in the real estate division of Abu Dhabi Investment Company, and worked in Hong Kong with LaSalle Investment Management, in Shanghai with Macquarie Bank, and in Sydney with Lendlease.
 
Canon received an MBA in Finance from the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), he is a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) in Australia and is a Responsible Officer (RO) for Type 1 and Type 4 licenses under the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong.
