Guy Bennett to lead Cushman & Wakefield in South Australia

Jess Freeman • 04/10/2022
The Adelaide commercial property market doesn’t miss a beat when it comes to the influx of local, national or offshore capital descending upon its shores, and the same is true for its movers and shakers.

Guy Bennett, industry stalwart and capital markets expert, has joined Cushman & Wakefield to lead the South Australia team as Managing Director and Head of Capital Markets - South Australia.

Guy brings a wealth of experience working both in agency and client side, including 10 years at Knight Frank and seven years with Charter Hall in Sydney.

Earlier this year, Cushman & Wakefield nabbed Jed Harley, Hamish Crouch and Jay Nash for its Commercial Real Estate (CRE) team, with Jed spearheading the Investment Sales business, and Hamish and Jay driving Cushman & Wakefield’s industrial business.

This newly created CRE arm complements Cushman & Wakefield’s existing service offering in Adelaide which includes facilities management, project development services and trade services.

The expanded South Australian agency footprint also follows the recent acquisition of office leasing and property management agency, Sheffield Property, in Perth. This was Cushman & Wakefield’s fifth acquisition in seven years and, alongside attracting some of the top industry professionals across the country, reflects the business’s strategy to deliver a leading commercial real estate and occupier services business across Australia.

Simon Fenn, Managing Director CRE ANZ at Cushman & Wakefield, said Guy’s appointment marks an exciting new chapter for the Adelaide business, as we actively grow our local presence across South Australia. This also marks yet another step in the delivery of a national agency platform following the recent acquisition of Sheffield Property in Perth and continued growth along the east coast.

Guy Bennett added, “This new agency team is a natural extension of Cushman & Wakefield’s current Adelaide business, as we look to expand our service offering for our valued clients.

“I am excited to be joining at an exciting time for the local market and working with a high performing national and global team”.

In Q4 2021, the Cushman & Wakefield Capital Markets business completed a record-breaking office transaction in Adelaide on behalf of Charter Hall with the sale of 25 Nile Street, Port Adelaide to Centuria.
