Cushman & Wakefield has bolstered its retail investment platform across Australia and New Zealand with the strategic appointment of Trent Weir as National Director, Retail Capital Markets ANZ.

The move signals the firm’s commitment to expanding its presence in the retail sector and delivering enhanced capital markets expertise to clients in a rapidly evolving retail landscape.

With over 20 years of experience in the property industry, Trent brings deep expertise across all retail investment classes, with a specialised focus on Regional, Sub-Regional, and Neighbourhood Shopping Centres, plus Large Format Retail assets.

His career spans across both valuation and agency roles, having provided strategic advice for financial reporting, asset due diligence, and market rent assessments, as well as transacting shopping centres nationally.

Trent joins Cushman & Wakefield from Colliers, where he was a National Director in Retail Valuations. His appointment marks a significant step in the firm’s strategy to expand its retail offering and deliver integrated investment solutions to clients.

Luke Etherington, Cushman & Wakefield’s Head of Investment Sales Australia said Trent’s appointment is a key milestone in the firm's retail growth strategy.
“His market knowledge, relationships, and transactional experience will enhance our ability to deliver value to clients across the full retail lifecycle. We’re excited to welcome him to the team as we continue to build a best-in-class retail platform across ANZ."
Trent Weir said

"The Australian retail landscape continues to strengthen. Three interest rate cuts and a lack of new retail supply have reignited investor demand for all retail assets. High-quality centres will again attract premiums, while secondary stock may alleviate future supply constraints and provide value-add or mixed-use opportunities. I’m thrilled to join Cushman & Wakefield at a time of such momentum and look forward to contributing to the firm’s national retail offering."
