The Responsible Property Management Toolkit (RPMT), a joint initiative of the Better Buildings Partnership (BBP) and Managing Agents Partnership (MAP), launched earlier this month with Cushman & Wakefield as a key contributor to its development.
The online Toolkit for Asset, Property and Facilities Managers has been designed with the purpose of embedding sustainability within the whole process of property management.
The RPMT has been drafted and developed with the support of over 30 sustainability practitioners from 15 of the UK's leading commercial real estate companies, including Cushman & Wakefield. It contains over 50 guidance notes across 13 key sustainability topics:
- Environmental Risk Management
- Operational Management
- Ratings and Certifications
- Social Values
- Supply Chain Management
- Fit-out & Alterations
- Occupier Engagement
- Health & Wellbeing
Megan Such, Sustainability Consultant at Cushman & Wakefield, utilised her expertise on ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems to help draft and develop the guidance notes with a focus on managing environmental risk.
Megan said: “Sustainability issues are becoming increasingly important to investors and occupiers and the Toolkit provides practical guidance to asset managers, property managers, facilities managers and all consultants to help meet stakeholder’s expectations through the property management lifecycle.”
