Vibrant Retail Mix Helps Transform Iconic Battersea Power Station

Battersea Power Station is an iconic 42-acre development on the south of the River Thames.

01 The Opportunity

Battersea Power Station is an iconic 42-acre development on the south of the River Thames, estimated to attract over 40 million visitors per year. The new Zone 1 tube station is due to open in 2021. The Power Station itself will include 700,000 sf of retail and 500,000 sf of office space, which has been pre-let to Apple. Units vary from 500 sf to 20,000 sf. 

02 The Solution

Cushman & Wakefield was instructed to advise on the retail and leisure space of the Battersea Power Station, which will be transformed into a retail, dining, leisure and office destination in the heart of London’s fastest growing redevelopment area, Nine Elms.

03 The Results

Phase 1, Circus West artisan ‘urban village’ is open and features an eclectic mix of occupiers including waterfront restaurants Wright Bro’s, Fiume, Pedlar, Darwin & Wallace, and cool unique offers such Boom Cycle, TomKotsu, Dodds Ginn Distillery, Mother Pizza & Archlight Cinema. Our team exceeded the client’s expectations. 

In 2021, the international retail and food & beverage flagships will open in Phases 2 and 3 in line with the new tube station. Once completed, the Battersea Power Station development will create a new community in Nine Elms, which will also see 4,000 new homes as well as embassies opening in the area.
